Nat dan 'Religion Under Seige?'

Aku terlupa nak ulas satu acara yang begitu bermakna untuk aku tidak berapa lama dahulu - Pelancaran Buku "Religion Under Seige?" oleh Nathaniel Tan.

Pelancaran buku itu diadakan sehari selepas aku lancarkan 'SELAK: BERSIH'S Journey Towards Clean And Fair Elections' di Annexe, Central Market sempena KLAB'08 (Kuala Lumpur Alternative Book Fair2008).

Buku tersebut sebenarnya dah terbit lama, tapi memandangkan adanya KLAB dan ianya mampu mengumpulkan crowd 'ulat buku', maka aku kira Kinibooks (penerbit) mengambil keputusan untuk membuat pelancarannya pada hari itu - 3 Mei 2008.

Nathaniel Tan atau lebih mesra aku panggilnya Nat hadir bersama teman rapatnya, Soon Li Tsin dan bapanya.

Banyak isu yang dikupas pada hari itu berdasarkan penulisannya. Penulisan dalam buku tersebut hasil daripada artikel-artikel yang pernah terbit di Malaysiakini.

Antaranya ialah berkenaan dengan isu Lina Joy, Negara Islam dan Kebebasan Beragama.

Aku sempat mendapatkan satu buku sebagai koleksi aku dan tanpa segan silu aku minta Nat tandatanganinya.

Apa yang aku terkejut ialah nota yang ditulis: "Acai, Your signature is worth more than mine!!"

Apa yang jelas, kami sama-sama kagum dengan penulisan masing-masing.

Selepas acara tu, aku dan Hafiz (Nor Shams) lepak di Bau Bau Cafe. Nat and Li Tsin joined later.

Nat beritahu yang dia ada rancangan ke Amerika Syarikat. Mungkin kita akan keluar makan-makan bila Nat balik nanti (since Li Tsin asyik cerita bab makanan dalam blog dia).

Masa dia dalam lokap disoalsiasat polis, aku pernah berjanji dalam blog untuk membuat cream caramel. Dan aku telah tunaikan janji aku.

Well, Nat keep up the good work. Enjoy Americans, send my regards to Obama.
