SELAK Lancar Secara Rasmi!

Aku bersyukur, program pelancaran SELAK berjaya disempurnakan.

Harris: Am I disturbing you?
Aku: Nope, I am still at the office.
Harris: Hey, you want me to launch the book but I have no idea about it.
Aku: Belum habis print.
Harris: What?! You got few hours to go, man
Aku: I know, I am waiting for the printer to call me.
Harris: Well, I am trying to search your background. Not much I could find.
Aku: Well, I am keeping myself lo-profile.
Harris: I notice, since the beginning.
Esoknya:
Harris: You have an impressive set of activities. I don't know you also work with the aborigines and the minorities.
Aku: Yes, I did.
Harris: I want to discuss with you more on this.
Aku: Anytime.

Syed Shahir memberi ucapan tahniah
Beliau datang dengan seikhlas hati. Sehari sebelum pelancaran beliau menelefon aku:
Syed: Esok you nak suruh saya datang pukul berapa?
Aku: Datang pukul 1 pm. Tapi saya tak bagi invitation.
Syed: Saya nak datang tak boleh? I pun nak support.
Aku: (Senyum) Boleh, boleh. I thought you are having a program in Ipoh.
Syed: Diorang postpone.
Aku terima sms daripadanya malam yang sama- Great job! Good work!

Chin Tong meneliti gambar-gambar dalam SELAK. Richard sedang mendengar ucapan aku
Bubu (the clown) pun datang. Dia tak minta bayaran pun. Gila-gila dia buat orang ketawa.
Team Awani datang. Dia kata, "kitorang tak boleh cover program ni, tak lulus punya."
Akhbar NST pun berkata demikian.
Aku jawab, "I understand." Sungguhpun demikian, press dapat satu naskah complimentary.
Rozan mengakhiri program dengan bacaan sajaknya. Ramai yang kata dia ter'over'.

Rozan sedang deklamasi sajaknya, Seruan Rakyat BERSIH
Aku bagitahu, dia memang fanatik macam tu. Cara dia memang macam tu. Pasal tu aku suka, mix variety.
Aku pun pernah belasah dia dalam blog aku sebelum ni. Dia tak pun melenting. Jadi kawan baik lagi.
Seruan Rakyat BERSIH
(mengenang halatuju dan semangat 10 November 2007)
i.
semangat seluruh rakyat negara
bertemu rapat dan teguh membawa satu perutusan
setelah sekian lama dinoda kebebasan
suara sepenuh azam harapan
bersama erat dan tekad membawa nafas perubahan
setelah sekian jauh dicabar kesabaran
Ketenangan telah musnah
Kewarasan telah lenyap
Kepercayaan telah hilang.
khabarkan kepada seluruh dunia kisah kami wahai langit
lima penjuru sesak berarak, luarbiasa ramai hadir berkumpul
ii.
tarikh keramat kini genggaman mesra sejarah
saksikanlah walau dalam nyanyian hujan petang
kota pantas menjadi riuh, menjadi kecil
seruan pelbagai bangsa Malaysia
sekali lagi bangkit menjana realiti berpuluh ribu jiwa
rakyat hakim negara
dalam nada sekata mahu hanya BERSIH !
dalam seru satu mahu hanya BERSIH!
letih telah pada dalih ciptaan
haus sudah kesabaran pada segala helah alasan
hilang tamat kepercayaan pada skandal penipuan
benarkah semua laporan, betulkah segala keputusan ?
(selama terus keraguan ketelusan).
iii.
biarlah datang beribu jentera keselamatan bengis
(yang terus biadap, bodoh bagai anjing suruhan)
derap tapak kami kekal maju melangkah
sepakat dengan empat tuntutan
biarlah datang beribu perisai keamanan dayus
kalah menang takkan dipersoal
asal nilai demokrasi amalan kekal hidup
iv.
Ampun Tuanku beribu ampun ! Sembah rakyat membawa tuntutan,
mohon perkenan demi kesejahteraan
menerima mandat menjadi payung perlindungan
Ampun Tuanku beribu ampun ! Izin rakyat membawa rintihan,
mohon perdengar demi kebahagiaan
melihat saksama menjadi adat peraturan
dan seluruh dunia pasti turut menyusun doa.
v.
kembalikanlah hak, tunaikanlah desakan !
persetankan penipuan dan penindasan !
rakyat kekal bertahan…
lawan tetap lawan…
BERSIH terus mara datang…

8. Daniel Wong
9. Zabrul (Setiausaha Angkatan Muda Bandar Tun Razak)
10. Zulhabri - kaya lah kau beb!

Alahamdulillah, aku bersyukur sangat.
I am on the right track, azam aku tercapai.
Watch out my next book!

REVIEWS FROM MALAYSIAKINI
| Coffee-table book that charts Bersih's journey |
| S Pathmawathy | May 5, 08 5:19pm |
| If you were unfortunate to have missed the 40,000 mass gathering organised by polls reform movement Bersih in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 10 last year, here is a chance now for you to soak up the events that led to the gathering. Bersih has published a 70-page coffee-table book which looks at the memorabilia of events that led to the mass gathering on that eventful Saturday. More interestingly, the book aims to highlight and expose the flaws inherent in the Malaysian electoral system and details Bersih's demands for democratisation. The publication is titled 'Selak - Bersih's Journey Towards Clean and Fair Elections' and charts the movement's efforts to push for reform in the country's electoral process with the combination of visually stimulating photographs. It was launched by prominent blogger and lawyer Harris Ibrahim during the World Press Freedom Day celebrations at the Central Market last Saturday (photo). The book is currently available at RM60 through online purchase and soon to be shelved in major bookstores nationwide beginning next week. "We bring to the people a visual presentation of facts with an alternative view point rather than to bombard people with lengthy texts," said Bersih coordinator Faisal Mustaffa."We want the people to see the truth and judge for themselves whether it is the truth because pictures speak a thousand words," he said. A chronological journey The book takes readers on a chronological journey beginning with the initialization of the Joint Action Committee for Electoral Reform in 2005 which subsequently began to be known as Bersih in 2006. The compilation lead off with a string of campaigns involving incidents like the Batu Talam by-election where opposition parties boycotted elections to highlight the inconsistencies of the electoral process. Glossy photographs and visuals follow to show true essence of the events and incidents that took place during various events organised by Bersih and its coalition. The major highlights of the book looks into the rally organised by Bersih with the support of civil-society groups and opposition political parties on Nov 10, 2007. The rally which gathered a crowd of almost 40,000 people in locations across the heart of the city was greeted by teargas and chemically laced water cannon fired by the riot police to break up the gathering. The book is also published to give the masses a gist of Bersih's work and contributions. The publication is dedicated to "Malaysians who are concerned about clean and fair elections, as well as matters of justice, equality, accountability and integrity". "It is also a tributeto those who made the Nov 10 Bersih people's gathering a huge success," read the book's introduction. Pushing for reforms Malaysian Trades Union Congress president Syed Shahir Mohamud in his foreword said that the book was an important visual document which "demontrates the painstaking process of Malaysians attempting to uphold their rights".He said that the people's rights were being violated by the Election Commission's inability to conduct clean, fair and free elections. "It is time to push for reforms more forcefully," he wrote. Faisal, who also acted as the coordinator for this book project, wrote in his acknowledgement that this pictorial book was "part of our pursuit of a trully democratic Malaysia". The book identified itself as a "visual representation of the significant events that took place during Bersih's campaign for electoral reforms since its inception in 2005". |

Police Intimidation in Kelana Jaya
Aren't the police intimidating the people? Are the people violated any laws? Police Act, Mr police officer?
Aren't we denied to organize programs in our premise? We paid the rental, you know?
Where was I?
I was at the back of the door. Sitting and cursing the police. I almost cried but managed to control.
Friends told me that my friends and I have done a good job until all levels of police came intimidating the program.
I accidentally appeared in this cut. Not for glamour but called by Mr OCPD to questions on the technically on the forms we submitted.
To be frank;
1. We do not intend to apply for any permit base on the rights given in Article 10 of the Federal Constitution and the Suhakam Report after Kesas Highway incident.
2. We were told to submit the application 'for records purposes' and the police promise of granting permission.
3. We were given condition not to condemn the police during ceramah (which we obeyed)
4. The rejection letter arrived by two officers wearing plain clothes at 8.30 pm on the ceramah day. The officers told to proceed with the programme and ignore the letter. We followed the instruction.
5. Sargeant Ishak came and wrote my IC whereas they already have my details at the permit application. Isn't this intimidation?
6. ASP Zakaria came again and ask for me later.
7. OCPD Junaidi came told us to shut the loud speaker.
8. CPO Selangor arrived and did a round using his car. Apperently, he did not get down from his car.
9. ASP Zakaria apologized to me and said, "Kita jalankan arahan." I asked, "Ikut arahan ke ikut undang-undang?" He smiled and replied, "naik naik pangkat kena ikut arahan".
10. I told him quietly, "Lain kali kalau arahan kata terjun KLCC, jangan tanya kenapa saya kena terjun, tanya saya kena terjun dari tingkat mana?
11. Well, I wish the police should work harder to maintain their position. You aint gonna have your dream promotions if the opposition in power. You'll be sacked, mr police officer!
